Echo Canyon Reservoir State Wildlife Area

"Great place to take the family, stop to fish a bit, or to just take in the great outdoors with an easy stroll. Plenty of areas to walk around and watch the wildlife. Awesome peninsula that leaves you feeling like you’re alone and only surrounded by the mountains. Numerous flowers/plants all along the wildlife area for the botanist enthusiasts. Really a forgotten place right off Hwy 84. We didn’t fish this go round but the guys loading their boat said it was, “fantastic”."

"Beautiful lake with incredible mountain views. Just right off main road. My friend said the sign said "no swimming". I didn't see that but swam a little anyways. The water felt great and was pretty clean, the tall water grass gave me the heebie jeebies so I stayed close to shore where there was dirt/gravel. There weren't many people when we went so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. I hear the fishing is incredible but I personally wouldn't eat a fish from a lake with a warning sign posted about eating the fish. Due to high mercury in the water children under 6 are advised to not eat the fish period and adults only one meal per month."
